kOYO is the very first release from Koyo Bloom, created at a time when the project was nothing more than a collaboration between Huw and Jacob — before a band had even been formed.

It began with Huw bringing a collection of songs that were originally intended to be acoustic recordings. With Jacob introducing his electronic influences and synthesised textures, the songs evolved into something entirely new. From that process, Koyo Bloom was born.

Collaborative from the very beginning, these recordings feature contributions from musician friends around Leeds, including Dan Comlay, who would shortly go on to become the band's bassist.

kOYO was written, performed, produced, and mixed by Huw Robert Edwards and Jacob Price.

Exceptions include live drums on "What Is Mine", performed by Jack Yardley; bass on "What Is Mine", performed by Dan Comlay; and backing vocals on "Release", performed by Christian Todd.
